#AtoZChallenge : Z for Zodac

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Zodac is an "evil" cosmic enforcer who although being tagged as evil, serves as a neutral character in the Masters of the Universe franchise. He helps maintain the balance and can aid any side whether good or bad whichever side needs his help.

Zodac is the last remaining member of "The council of elders" whose aim is to keep knowledge and wisdom. He lives in a wooden temple in the Mystic mountains where he meditates and keeps to himself. He doesn't have any alliance whatsoever and chooses who is right or wrong using his own knowledge and will.

#AtoZChallenge : Y for Yoddha

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Yoddha is an ultimate warrior created by Raj Comics. He is from ancient time where he is the greatest warrior and has somehow traveled to the modern time. He is the son of a god Dev Shiromani and a denmon, has incredible strength, unparalleled fighting skills and uses a multipurpose weapon.

His comics showcases him trying to cope with the modern world alongside fighting the forces of evil and trying to find his origin.

Xerxes is the sidekick of the sorcerer, Mozenrath. He is a flying eel/lamprey-like creature, who can speak in broken English. He is endlessly loyal to his master, though he has the habit of saying the wrong thing and taking a beating for it.

Source
Absolutely loyal to Mozenrath, I loved watching Xerxes try and bring his master's plan to fruition but always failed and his instant dislike towards Alladin and Genie also made for some entertaining scenes.

#AtoZChallenge : W for WEBSTOR and WINNIE THE POOH

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Source
Finding a character with W was a tough one but then, voila! I remembered about Webstor from the He-Man comics. Webstor is evil, cunning and a stealthy thief who is able to sneak into the Royal Palace with ease, as well as providing deadpan humor with his amusing retorts to Skeletor's jibes.
Also known as the Evil Master of Escape, he has Spider-like agility and
grappling hook that allow him to steal and make out easily. He is intelligent and a villain who made me shake with fright and had me running at the sight of spiders and even haunted me in my dreams! :)

Source

Also known as “Pooh Bear”, Winnie came first came to us in 1926. His travels and friends grace the minds of almost every kid at some point in our lives. I loved watching his cartoons on TV and reading his stories in magazines and comics. My love for honey came from him and his liveliness and happiness still inspires me. :)

#AtoZChallenge : V for Vedacharya

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Vedacharya is a Tilism expert and Bharti's grandfather. He is blind but can see people by the energy they emit as rays. He appears in many issues and is often seen helping and protecting Nagraj and other snakes on Nagdweep. He was the personal astrologer for King Takshakraj who was the father of Nagraj and was killed by Nagpasha.

Vedacharya is the one who convinced Nagraj to live in Mahanagar and gave him his alter ego Raj. Vedacharya has created many powerful tilisms, but the most noteworthy of them is the Tilism you find in the Khazana series where he created a Tilism with co-operation of Dev Kaljai, the diety of Nagraj's family for protecting the family treasure from falling into the hands on Nagpasha. It was designed in such a way that only the son of Takshakraj can break it.

His strong character with his knowledge inspired me to learn more and someday become as knowledgeable and wise as he was.

Blind but still extremely powerful and wise, Vedacharya impressed me with his wisdom. Often helping Nagraj, he is a memorable character in the Nagraj series.

#AtoZChallenge : U for UNCLE $CROOGE

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Source
Uncle Scrooge (stylized as Uncle $crooge) is a comic book starring the stingy Scrooge McDuck ("the richest duck in the world"), his nephew Donald Duck, and grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and revolving around their adventures in Duckburg and around the world.

Source

His character is of an extremely miser and judges everything with money, but when It comes to his family, he stops at nothing to protect them. His favorite hobby is swimming in his giant bank of gold coins. The series include few other characters like Launchpad, a pilot who crashes more planes than he flies, Gyro who is a scientist and creates new and awe inspiring gadgets, Magika a witch who is after Scrooge's lucky coin, Beagle boys who are a group of thieves with a comical element to them and cute names one of which is Babyface Beagle. Every story teaches a lesson of life and has a happy ending.

#AtoZChallenge : T for TIRANGA

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Source

Tiranga is a character inspired by Captain America. Just like Captain America, he also sports a shield with the Indian tricoloured flag and fights to save the country from evil.
Source

Daring, loyal and a great soldier, Tiranga inspired patriotism in me and his stories were both thrilling and so addicting that I could not wait to read the next issue. One of the most popular characters created and published by Raj Comics, Tiranga still stands for justice, patriotism and righteousness and has a huge following.

#AtoZChallenge : S for SHRIMATIJI and SUPPANDI

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

The oldest character created by the master cartoonist, Pran Kumar Sharma in 1968, Shrimatiji is a middle class woman in thirties, who has a husband and two children. Like his other comic characters, this one targets the Indian women, who want to attend Kitty parties and beauty parlours. Shrimatiji alias Sheila is always taking a jibe at her husband, Kishore and believes in enjoying life as it comes her way.

Source

I love Shrimatiji's light banter with her husband, Kishore. Kishore's sometimes harassed but always devoted-to-his-wife character. The supporting characters who depict the normal Indian neighbours, vendors and office people also add a realistic flavour to this evergreen comics. Never failing to cheer me and make me laugh, Shrimatiji is a character close to my heart. :)

Source
Suppandi is a comic character who appears in Tinkle comics. Suppandi, a village simpleton, is still considered the most famous among the characters appearing in Tinkle. Suppandi made his debut in January, 1983.

Source
Always in trouble because of his simpleton ways and stupidity, his stories are hilarious and teach us a valuable lesson. Guaranteed to make you roll in laughter, I love Suppandi! :)

#AtoZChallenge : R for RAMAN

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Source

Created by the master cartoonist Pran, Raman is a middle class Indian who has high aspirations but just like the millions of other middle class Indians is often helpless about situations. His funny and jovial attitude towards his wife and in general, made for very entertaining stories that had me chuckling, learning from and then re-narrating to my friends! :)

Source
Raman's comics called "Raman - United We Stand" in English or "Raman - Ham Ek Hain" in Hindi touched on secularism and taught respect and love towards our fellow countrymen belonging to various religions. Teaching national integration, this comics was released in 1983 by the Indian Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi.

#AtoZChallenge : Q for QUEEN MARLENA

This is my first time participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge and I am so excited!
My blog posts all through April will follow the theme: "My favourite Indian comics/cartoon characters."

Source

Queen Marlena is Queen of Eternia and mother of the twins Prince Adam (He-Man) and Princess Adora. I loved her quiet strength. She is both wise and elegant. Both a great mother and a great Queen, she gave her son wise bits of knowledge and also supported her husband in running the kingdom successfully. Beautiful, sophisticated, a good mother and wife and a personality commanding strength, I always wished to one day become as intelligent and beautiful as her! :)

Source
Published in India by a few well known comics magazines, I had the pleasure to spending a great many years in her company both on paper and on TV through the well known cartoon series of He-Man.

I was lovingly called Njkinny by friends and family (Nj being my name initials and Kinny was a nickname given to me by a dear uncle). So when I decided to start a blog I named the url njkinny and the blog Njkinny's World of Books because I loved reading and wanted a bookish blog. However after a year, I decided to branch out and the blog became Njkinny's World of Books & Stuff. Now, apart from books, I write on a variety of things and topics. :)
