My Review:
Morning.Misty.Meadows:Sunrise Dew fragrance in Godrej aer pocket is the one I bought for my bathroom and I also tried it in my bedroom. It has the pleasing and relaxing smell of lilies and jasmine which leaves a lingering fragrance in the room throughout the day.
What I liked about this product:
1) The packet is easy to use. Just cut the outer packet and inside is another packet with a hook. Hang it wherever you want like in the bathroom or in your room and notice the fragrance of lilies and jasmine permeating every corner.
2) I loved the fragrance. It is light, soothing and had me feeling relaxed and happy like I was in a meadow with lots and lots of lovely flowers.
3) The pocket lasts roughly upto 20 days, sometimes maybe a few days less.
4) It is small and there is no danger of chemicals harming you when handling it. Its a closed packet. Just hang it in your bathroom and forget about it!
5) The pricing is affordable at 49 INR per piece and I felt is value for money.
6) It comes in two other fragrances: violet.valley.bloom: Floral haze which has the enticing fragrance of violet flowers; bright.tangy.delight: A happy fragrance which has the sunny, citrus fragrance of oranges.
7) This product not only works effectively in the bathroom but also can be easily used as a room freshner in other rooms in the house.
8) Godrej Aer Pocket is easily available everywhere.

What I didn't like about this product:
1) The fragrance can be a little overwhelming and strong when the pocket is used in small rooms which can be irritating to our nose and cause a headache.

2) The age of the product depends on factors like ventilation and dimensions of the room. As experienced by me, the fragrance lasts more when placed in smaller rooms as compared to larger ones with better ventilation.
3) As acclaimed, the fragrance doesn't last 30 days. It is roughly 20 or less depending on the room.

Morning.Misty.Meadows:Sunrise Dew fragrance in Godrej aer pocket is a recommended product from me. I am loving the happy experience of placing it my room and in my bathroom. Both of which smell "fresh" and "meadowy" all day. Go buy and experience Morning.Misty.Meadows:Sunrise Dew fragrance in Godrej aer pocket in your own house and share your views with me. I know I will be trying out the other fragrances available in this range soon.

Book Review: Caressed by Ice (Psy-Changeling #3) by Nalini Singh

Title and Author: Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh
No. of Pages: 352
Series: Psy-Changeling #3
Publication: September 4th 2007 by Berkley Sensation
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Shapeshifters, Adult Romance, Series, Scifi
Language: English

Book Review:

Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh is the third book in the Psy-Changeling series and definitely one of my absolute favourites. If the first two books in this series were good then this one went even a step further in winning me over.

This is the story of the defected Psy, Judd Lauren and the Snow Dancer wolf, Brenna Kincaid who was abducted and tortured by a Psy and although eventually rescued, is still grappling with the horror of those days.

I really really enjoyed reading this book and was bowled over by the romance, the drama and the danger present in this story.

Nalini Singh has created a complex, ingenious and engrossing futuristic world where there are Psy, cold in their emotions but very strong with their minds; Changelings who are passionate, ferociously loyal and very close to their emotions;  and Humans. The author has expertly managed to develop the fictional world and further engross and intrigue the readers in the latest developments happening and thinking about the repercussions on the lives of their favourite characters in this series!

I have come to become a big fan of Nalini Singh and she proves her imagination and writing prowess yet again in this book. She brings to us scorching and yet heartfelt passion, very real danger and a crisp and engaging story line that held me captive until the very end.

The story is fast paced and well planned twists thrown at strategic points in the story. The characterization is realistic and I could empathize with the characters. Brenna had me admiring her grit and strength in overcoming such a horrible experience that is sure to break anyone's spirit. Judd's struggle in maintaining his cold, emotionless self despite his yearning for more from his life is very real. I enjoyed following these two around as they bumped around trying to find their final happily-ever-after while facing life threatening danger from an unknown assailant.

There are intense emotional scenes and equally intimate physical scenes which although very explicit, didn't make me feel uncomfortable because of the beautiful balance between the physical and emotional aspects of the scenes.

I absolutely loved this book and was left eager to immediately take up the next book to read!

All in all, Caressed by Ice is a beautiful mix of good storytelling, well constructed settings, expertly developed characters and heartfelt emotional play. 5 out of 5 to it from me and recommended to all lovers of paranormal romantic suspense who are above the age of eighteen.

Friday Feature and Follow #67 ~Ten Reasons I Read My Favorite Genre

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community.
If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

Prompt of the Week: Ten Reasons You Read Your Favorite Genre

While I am eclectic in my reading tastes, my favourite genres are Mystery and Romance but I think lately I have been reading more of Romance so here are my ten reasons of reading this genre.

1) Romance is a feel good genre that always promises the magic of love conquering every obstacle in life.
2) It has so many variants like Romantic Suspense that satisfies both my romantic and detective inclinations.
3) The heroes in this genre are almost always men who make my heart race and then feel proud that I have one man just like these hunks in my own real life!
4) I get to travel to exotic places while sitting right here in my home and feel the romance in the air.
5) The heroines sometimes are spunky, independent women and watching them butt heads with alpha heroes is always entertaining.
6) The hero is almost always a knight in shining armour.
7) The endings are almost always Happily-Ever-Afters.
8) The emotions in these stories are sometimes heartbreaking and sometimes heart soaring which make me appreciate life even more.
9) It is a popular genre and after getting addicted to it, I know why. I just love reading books in this genre which are sometimes light reads and sometimes a serious affair.
10) The writing style varies from giving us, readers, short leisure reads to sometimes long sagas. So this again appeals to my reader self and I get to experience many styles of stories and writing.

ARC Book Review, Giveaway: LADY BRIDGET'S DIARY (Keeping Up with the Cavendishes #1 ) by Maya Rodale

Series: Keeping Up with the Cavendishes #1
Author: Maya Rodale
Releasing February 23rd, 2016
Publisher: Avon Books

In the first hilarious entry in her brand new series, USA Today bestselling author Maya Rodale re-invents a love story we all know and cherish.

Lord Darcy is the epitome of perfect

Lord Darcy is the quintessential Englishman: wealthy, titled, impossibly proper and horrified that a pack of Americans have inherited one of England’s most respected dukedoms. But his manners, his infamous self-restraint and better judgment fly out the window when he finds himself with the maddening American girl next door.

Lady Bridget is the opposite of perfect

Lady Bridget Cavendish has grand-but thwarted-plans to become a Perfect Lady and take the haute ton by storm. In her diary, Bridget records her disastrous attempts to assimilate in London high society, her adoration of the handsome rogue next door, her loathing of the Dreadful Lord Darcy and some truly scandalous secrets that could ruin them all.

They cannot stand each other-and yet they cannot stay away

It was loathing at first sight for Lady Bridget and Lord Darcy. But their paths keep crossing...and somehow involve kissing. When Lady Bridget’s diary goes missing, both Darcy and Bridget must decide what matters most of all-a sterling reputation or a perfectly imperfect love.

ARC Book Review:

Lady Bridget's Diary is the first book by Maya Rodale that I have read and I am so glad that I picked this one up!

The cover is just beautiful and combined with the title and blurb this package is sure to attract readers, like it did me.

The plot is a mix of Pride and Prejudice and Bridget Jones' Diary and somewhat Mean Girls too. This similarity may sometimes feel too repetitive for ones taste but still Maya has expertly executed the plot to give us a story which has laugh-out-loud moments, some intense romantic ones, quite a few emotionally charged ones with a healthy dose of family drama and fun.

The author's writing style is engaging and she had me engrossed in the story right from the start. The world building is admirable. I could imagine the drastic differences between the English life and the American way of living. I could empathize with the characters and could feel the excitement of stepping into the glittering ball rooms decked in beautiful ball gowns!

The Cavendish family is a fun family with all sorts of members ranging from Klutzy Bridget to the troublemaker Amelia to the maths loving Claire to the horse loving James. Their struggles in adapting to the English life are both endearing and too funny. I really enjoyed their strong bonds with each other and their interactions with each other and other members of the ton. Darcy is our same Darcy from Pride and Prejudice and so already my favourite. Mr. Collins is also the same from Jane Austen's classic, Pride and Prejudice. But the character that had me intrigued and impressed was Duchess Josephine. She is both shrewd, intelligent and a caring person. I would love to meet and know more about her in the future. Lady Francesca is our typical jealous, nose-in-the-air and haughty "Mean Girl".

All in all, Lady Bridget's Diary is an entertainer through and through. I really enjoyed reading it and recommend it everyone. 4 out of 5 to it and look forward to reading the next book in this series, Chasing Lady Amelia and the other books by Maya Rodale. I would have given this book full 5 stars had the plot not been so same as the ones in the above mentioned lovely books.

I received an ARC from the publishers and the tour organizers via Edelweiss and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

Book Review: Life Had Other Plans by Munish Dhawan

#BookReview Life Had Other Plans by Munish Dhawan Title and Author: Life Had Other Plans by Munish Dhawan
No. of Pages: 361
Publication Date: December 22nd 2014 by Leadstart Publishing
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Contemporary Fiction, Indian Writing
Language: English

Book Review:
Life Had Other Plans by Munish Dhawan takes us into the Indian advertising world through three protagonists as they stumble, bumble and love their way through life.

When Munish contacted me about the book, I was hooked regarding the concept. Not having read any books that had advertising industry as background, I was intrigued. The cover is interesting and eye catchy with the title further adding to the allure. The blurb is a bit long and I think can be made more concise and intriguing.

The story of the book is more like memories and experiences of the protagonists and sometimes even seems like a serial with each chapter acting as a fresh episode. The author as admirably brought his story idea to life and I enjoyed navigating through life along with the characters.

Munish's writing style is fluid, simple and engaging. He was able to engross me in the happenings of the book with the very realistic settings, emotions and experiences. Some events and actions came as a surprise to me, maybe because I could not connect my own self there but still nowhere did I feel like it was all make believe.

The pace of the book is a bit erratic. It goes slow then picks up pace and then again slows down. So this could have been made better. Another thing that had me feeling a bit dissatisfied was the usage of Hinglish which I personally think should not be used because many words lose their essence when non-Hinglish knowing readers read the book.

The characters are expertly developed and they remained with me long after the end of the story. They are a strange lot and taught me so much through their ups and down in the book.

There are some lovely twists and surprises thrown in the book which will have you admiring the author.

All in all, Life Had Other Plans is a book that had me entertained but is one book that is difficult to judge because it has its own highs and lows. I had to read it twice to make up my mind which I think is still struggling to do it justice! 4 out of 5 to it and recommended to everyone. Go read it and share your own thoughts with me!

I look forward to reading more from Munish in the future and wish him the very best.

I received the book from the author and I am very thankful to him. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

Smoke curled lazily from the cigar propped up in the cheap glass ashtray. He sat in the chair, facing what was meant to be a dressing table  if anyone who required one had been present. As it was it substituted as a desk in the absence of anything more suitable in the small and depressingly worn-out hotel room he currently called home.

His right hand, encased, as it and its partner so often were, in a close-fitting vinyl glove, was wrapped around a tumbler holding bourbon, a bottle of which he’d brought with him. This wasn’t the sort of establishment that would have the stock to provide him with what he wanted, and he didn’t need to bring himself to the attention of anyone with requests that might be remembered.

The hotel was large and run down, nothing having been spent on its decoration in, he reckoned, the last twenty years. There was a high turnover of guests, some staying one night, passing through; some, he suspected, staying an hour, such were the clientele and the area in which the hotel was located. Money changed hands for blind eyes to be turned. This was a place where nobody cared for customer satisfaction, where guests were anonymous and forgotten, which suited his purposes. This was why he’d brought his own bottle. Reaching for it now, he refilled his glass.

Book Review: Raakshas: India's No.1 Serial Killer by Piyush Jha

Title and Author: Raakshas by Piyush Jha
No. of Pages: 147
Publication Date: December 18th 2015 by Westland
Genre: Crime, Thriller, Serial Killer, Mystery, Indian Writing
Language: English

Book Review:
Raakshas by Piyush Jha narrates the thrilling, sometimes heartrending and sometimes horrifying journey of the making of a serial killer who transforms from a normal person to a Raakshas (devil), a serial killer so terrible that there is no other word to describe him.

When I first heard about the book, I was intrigued by the unconventional topic of the book and its title "Raakshas". I hadn't read a book that focused on giving light to a killer's perspective and this, added to the fact that I had heard so much about Piyush Jha but never got a chance to read his work until now, I knew I had to read this book.

The cover, title and blurb are an interesting and intriguing first glance package that are sure to attract the attention of the readers.

The plot is different and well researched which shows right from the start. The author managed to capture my attention right from the first chapter and soon had me feeling a multitude of emotions right from feeling sympathetic to the misfortune of a child to feeling horrified at the cruelty prevailing in the world around us, seemingly hidden behind the normal looking faces of people who are so devilish that I was thrown by the way their mind works and their heartlessness.

The book is crisp, fast paced and had me sitting at the edge of my seat throughout. Even when I felt repulsed by, horrified at and so heartbroken by the torture endured by the Raakshas that formed his childhood and made him a devil, I could not keep down the book- I was so intrigued and eager to read more!

Piyush has a way of bringing out the right emotions from the readers and had me totally engaged in the book. However, despite his extensive research and detailed narrative, at places I felt the narrative deviating, getting a bit vague and had me feeling like instead of a story I was reading a research paper. Maithili's narrations ended abruptly many times which could have been toned down to end more smoothly.

The world building is impressive and the author showcases a very dark and a very different Mumbai from the sparkling one that we know. A perfect setting for the serial killer, I got goosebumps reading the story and know I will never look at Mumbai the same way again.

The murders are very detailed but still after a time they stopped shocking me, maybe because I was expecting them. Maithili is a strong character but I felt her character could have been made more impressive. Her past trauma and that of the serial killer makes one feel both sorry and more connected with these characters. This is the first book in a long time that had me sympathizing with the villain and thinking about the various ways through which he could have been saved from losing his innocence and from becoming an abhorred killer.

The last few chapters look hurried and I think could have been made more crisp and appealing. While I enjoyed the book, I do feel that the last part is weak and had so much potential to end in a blast.
Still, this is a book that I enjoyed reading.

The bonus section that includes information about many serial killers in India is a pleasant surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

All in all, Raakshas is a book with a different plot that had me sitting glued to the story  right till the end. Recommended to everyone especially to lovers of crime/thriller fiction, I give Raakshas 3.5 out of 5. Go read it and enjoy! I know I will checking the other works by Piyush Jha in the future.

I received the book from the author through Writersmelon Reviewing Program and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
