#BookReview: Mistletoe Cottage (Harmony Harbor #1) by Debbie Mason

Book Review:

Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason is the first book in her new series, Harmony Harbor. I enjoy Debbie's books and was ecstatic when I heard about her upcoming series. Mistletoe Cottage has me in love with this book, series and the town of Harmony Harbor.

In this book, we meet Sophie DiRossi who fled the town at the age of eighteen when she found out she was pregnant and certain that the boy she loved didn't love her back. Now years later, she is back in town with her daughter.

Liam Gallaghar loved Sophie and was heartbroken when she left. Now she is back in town and though determined never to go down the love lane for Sophie, he cant help but fall a little each time they cross paths.

The romance is heartfelt and engaging. I loved Sophie because she is a realistic character that has made mistakes, is prone to erratic behaviour and despite all this, loves and fiercely protects the people she loves. Liam is a swoon worthy hero. He is loyal, hardworking, passionate and a keeper. I loved how these very different people overcame all their differences and quirks to begin a new life together.

The main plot also features Greystone Manor, a large manor/hotel that the Gallagher family runs and the town leans on for tourist season. It’s failing. Enter Sophie who has just finished her classes to become a manger. She breathes life into the old place and romance into her own life. I liked the small town feel that is so similar to Mason’s other series. So many characters are introduced in this book that are all so very different and have me intrigued. I am eager to read about them and hope they get featured in the upcoming books in this series. I adored Liam and Mia, Sophie’s daughter. Mia's character is so beautifully developed and it was enlightening and entertaining to see the child come out of her shell.

The DiRossi and Gallagher feud also lends many funny moments and I am eager to see what the elderly matriarchs of these two families will do next. They are causing scandals and chaos in this book and I know will be brewing trouble in the next books too.

I am especially eager to read about Sophie's cousin, Ava who has been hinted to have been a vivacious girl once but is now just a shell of her former headstrong and independent self. I want to know what happened to make her like this and know more about Greystone Manor's fate. Can it be saved before it is too late?

All in all, Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason is a book that brings holiday cheer to our homes and makes us believe in miracles. I absolutely loved this book and cant wait to read the upcoming books in this series. 4.5 out of 5 stars to it from me and strongly recommended to everyone. Come visit Harmony Harbor where scandals, budding romances and a touch of supernatural abound!

I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased review.

#ARCBookReview: Call to Honor (Seal Brotherhood #1, Team Poseidon #1) by Tawny Weber

ARC Book Review:

Call to Honor by Tawny Weber is the first book by the author that I have read and it certainly wont be the last!

"The Poseidon team are hard-bodied, fiercely competitive Navy SEALs. But when a sensitive mission goes disastrously wrong, three of the team's finest will have to trust their hearts and instincts to uncover the truth… "

The above lines of the blurb and the author's name that I had always heard in high praise are the reasons I stopped to check out the book because frankly I just didn't like the cover. After reading the book, it just seems lacking and fails in giving the right impression of the book. The story is so much more than the erotic depiction on the cover. It is emotional, suspenseful, has a swoon worthy romance and realistically portrays the relationship struggles of lovers, parents and friends through the characters in this book.

The title and blurb are well done and apart from the author's already established following, it is this combination that will attract new readers towards this book.

The story follows Navy SEAL, Diego Torres who is given the task of gathering information from single mom, Harper Mclean when a mission goes awry and her ex-husband is suspected of leaking secret information to the enemy. Harper has been running from her ex ever since she understood the lengths to which he would go to take away her son.

Now safe in the knowledge that her ex doesn't know her whereabouts, she is both intrigued and attracted towards the brooding and smoking hot new neighbour who seems to have easily connected with her son.

Tawny Weber's narration style is fluid, vivid and easily sucks the readers in the story. I sat at the edge of my seat throughout the book and could not put the book down until I had finished it. She gives us an engaging story with well played out twists and turns, a thrilling suspense with plenty of danger and a sense of urgency to solve the mystery and a romance that is intense, sexy and super hot!

The characters are people I connected to easily and felt I knew them. I loved Harper and Diego and am eager to read Andi's story.

The only problem I faced while reading the book was remembering the names of the members of The Poseidon Team which confused me initially but after a while I could connect a name with a character.

All in all, Call to Honor is intense, suspenseful romance that is a through and through entertainer that I enjoyed reading and recommend to all adult readers. 4 stars out of 5 to it from me and I look forward to reading more books from Tawny Weber in the future.

I received an ARC from the author, the publishers and the tour organizers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

I absolutely don't.
Right now, I'm interested in a handsome French millionaire, but I need Alex to help me learn how to be attractive to men. He agrees because he's my friend, but he doesn't seem happy about it.

Excerpt:

“So, since you’re my friend, what do you suggest I do to move things along with Stefan.”
He stared at me blankly. “Move things along?”
“I don’t mean I want to jump into bed with him, but I’d like to know if he’s a possibility. What if he still doesn’t want to kiss me?”
“He will.”
“What if he doesn’t?”
“I just said he will.”
“But you said he did last time, and he didn’t even try.”
“Did you give him any encouragement?”
“What kind of encouragement?”
“You know.”
I gave an outraged huff. “I do not know! What do you think I’ve been telling you all this time? I’m completely clueless. I’ve never done this before.  What kind of encouragement am I supposed to give a man to get him to kiss me?”
Alex straightened up, shifting slightly in his seat. “Just… just… I don’t know… gaze up at him soulfully.”
I snorted. “How am I supposed to do that? What does that even mean?”
He groaned, but then evidently decided to take on this particular task. He turned to face me more fully and reached out to take my shoulders, turning my body toward his. “Okay,” he said in a different tone. “Look at me. In the eyes.”
I gazed up at him without hesitation. I looked at him all the time. There was no one I’d rather look at than Alex.
Our eyes met, and he murmured, “Now stop looking like you want to dig into my brain for answers to your questions.”
I gasped at this comment, but he didn’t give me time to respond.
He continued, “I’m serious. Relax. Stop thinking. Just look at me.”
I tried to do what he said and was startled by the look in his eyes. He was gazing at me too, and for a moment I was trapped by the softness, the depth, the warmth of his expression.
My mind blurred over and my heart started to beat wildly. I could feel my pulse in my wrists, my head, my throat.
“That’s good,” Alex murmured huskily. “Really good. Just like that.”
My breathing was growing more shallow, and other parts of my body started to throb. He wasn’t even touching me, but it felt so much like he was.
Trying to make my mind work the way it was supposed to and engage in this conversation, I asked, “So what if he… if he still doesn’t kiss me.”
“Try touching him.”
“I don’t want to humiliate myself.”
“So make it a little casual touch. Nothing definite. Just touch his arm or his chest or something.”
Instinctively, I lifted my hand and pressed it lightly against Alex’s chest. He was wearing a dark blue crew neck shirt, and I could feel his hard, warm chest beneath the fabric.
I heard his breath hitch slightly. “Good.”
Willing myself to act normal, I managed to say, “What if he still doesn’t kiss me?”
“He will.”
“What if he doesn’t?”
“He will.”
“What if—”
He smothered a soft groan. “Then move your hand. Maybe touch his face. But just lightly.”
I raised my hand and used my fingertips to gently stroke along the line of his jaw. “Like this?” I whispered.
Alex seemed frozen, unmoving, as he sat stiffly and stared at me.
I loved the feel of his face so much that I stroked my finger back up to his cheekbone.
He let out a low groan and grabbed my face in both of his hands, pulling me toward him until he was kissing me hard.

A Princess Next Door (Rotham Royals #1)
I was born the oldest princess of a tiny country in the Alps, which means my future has been planned out for me since I was an infant. I was supposed to marry a rich, arrogant stranger to help restore the royal bank accounts, but I decided to go to college in the States instead. It was the one act of rebellion in my very sheltered life.

That's how I met Jack Watson. He lives next door, and he's the nicest, sexiest guy I've ever known. My time here is almost over, though. Soon I have to go back home and be the daughter my family and country expects. So there's no sense in letting Jack seduce me with his slow smile, his skillful hands, and his husky drawl.

Even if I was allowed to have him for a boyfriend, Jack hates formal occasions, pretentious people, and being the center of attention. He'd never hook up with a princess.

Which is why he can never know who I am.

A Princess For A Bride (Rotham Royals #2)
I was born the middle princess of a tiny country in the Alps, which means my primary duty in life has always been to make a good marriage for my family and country. That's why I'm marrying Edward Channing. He's rich, handsome, arrogant, and silent.

Seriously, he almost never talks to me at all.

He might be marrying a princess, but he obviously doesn't want to spend any more time with me than he has to. I have no problem with that. We can live entirely different lives and pursue our own interests. I'm sure we can make this arranged marriage work.

Of course, we do need to produce an heir, but I'm trying not to think about that.

#ARCBookReview and #Giveaway Whisper of Love (Love in Bloom, The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor #5) by Melissa Foster

NEW RELEASE........
Tempest Braden adores her family and her small hometown, but sometimes too much of a good thing can be confining. At almost thirty, having watched most of her siblings find true love, she’s anxious to experience her own happily ever after, and the move to Pleasant Hill, Maryland, is just the change she needs. When she rents a room from ruggedly handsome, and closed-off, artist Nash Morgan and his adorable son, Phillip, she thinks she’s found a little slice of heaven on the outskirts of town, where she can concentrate on building her business. That is, if she can ignore the undeniable heat between her and the sinfully hot single father.

When Nash bought his farmette, he had one goal in mind—to provide a loving, stable home for his son. He never imagined he’d be raising Phillip alone, or renting out a room to keep their heads above water. Then again, he never imagined losing his brother, or spending two years sailing around the world with parents who seemed to forget one son was still alive.

Sparks fly from the moment Tempest moves in, and her positive energy and inquisitive nature brings new life into Nash and Phillip’s quiet, confined world. For the first time in years, Nash wants to let a woman into his world, but while his loss made him stronger, that strength came at a price, leaving him walled off and wary of opening his heart again.

WHISPER OF LOVE is part of the Love in Bloom series. While this can be read as a stand-alone novel, for even more reading enjoyment you may want to read the entire Love in Bloom series in series order.

ARC Book Review:

I had been intrigued by Tempest Braden's character ever since I read the previous books in Love in Bloom series. Tempest has always been the too careful sister, more interested in her music than in chasing romance but when she meets Nash Morgan, the attraction is immediate and intense.

Frankly speaking, insta attraction that turns to love in a span of days or weeks is something that acts as a con in a book for me but some books dare me to dislike them and this is one such book. I could not help but fall for Nash and Tempest. The buildup of their relationship is quick but so effortlessly done that every event, every emotion looks natural and has the reader thoroughly engrossed.

The whole parent angle is so beautifully developed that being a parent myself, I could be seen nodding at each observation and highlighting all the beautiful quotes from the book!

Loved loved loved Philip. He is so cute and adorable. Nash is the kind of hero we all root for. He is brooding, intense, serious and gruff on the outside but with a heart of gold. Emotionally scarred by a few events in his past, he is over protective of his son and afraid to take a leap of faith towards another chance at love. However, he is unable to hold back his feelings for Tempest.

Tempest is the serious and careful girl we all have met atleast once in our lives. She is passionate towards her career and too cautious and afraid to trust when it comes to romance.

The chemistry between Nash and Tempest is emotionally rich, smoking hot and realistically portrayed that everyone will connect with them.

I am a big fan of this series and of Melissa Foster's writing and she doesn't disappoint. Her narration is crisp, engaging and very enlightening. Reading her books is like experiencing life and I always learn so much about people and behaviour from her stories.

All in all, Whisper of Love by Melissa Foster is another entertainer and a great addition to her Love in Bloom series. Despite being part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone story. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to all adult romance lovers. 4.5 out of 5 stars to it from me andI look forward to reading more from the author in the future.
