Skin care is so important and
we all love a healthy, vibrant one that is sure to get compliments from
everyone. While we all want
healthy, spotless skin, do we really know how to go about it?
The best way is the Ayurvedic
or the natural way!
By God's grace, I have been
blessed with spotless skin and taking my grandmother's advice, I follow a few
simple steps to ascertain that my skin breathes and is healthy.
Here are my top picks for a healthy and dazzling skin:
1) Drink lots of water
Water is a major constituent of
our body and helps in flushing out harmful toxins. Drinking lots of water helps
in keeping our body and in turn, our skin hydrated and looking fresh while also
removing toxins from it.
I have realized that drinking atleast 2 litres of water goes a long way in
keeping us looking hydrated, healthy and fresh with a dazzle that is sure to
earn us compliments! :)
2) Wash your face with natural face washes and face packs.
I use natural ingredients to
prepare chemical free face packs and face wash to use on my skin.
One of my favourites is: Gram
flour, turmeric and lemon face pack
Steps to prepare and use it:
Mix Gram flour and turmeric in
2:1 ratio with a few drops of lemon and apply on your face or all over your
body. Let it stay for 5 minutes and then wash off while gently scrubbing in
circular motions.
This face pack not only gently
scrubs and thus, increases blood circulation, removes dead skin but its natural
ingredients help keep the skin infection free, healthy and sparkling.
Turmeric is a known
antiseptic. It keeps the skin healthy; protects the skin from pimples, acne and
other skin ailments and also removes tan to leave it dazzling and fair.
Gram flour is again
healthy for our skin and leaves it smooth, flawless and looking fresh.
3) Use a good quality skin cream.
4) Use a good quality Sunscreen
or Sunblock to protect our skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays and from sun
rashes, sun burns and unnecessary tanning.
A good quality
Sunscreen/Sunblock with a SPF rating above 15 is necessary to keep our skin
safe and healthy.

5) A good diet.
Eating healthy is necessary to
keep our skin healthy. Include lots of fruits, green leafy vegetables, use less
oil and spices to maintain and enhance our skin's as well as our body's overall

6) Have a restful sleep.
