Book Review Discover India: Festivals of India by Sonia Mehta

I love reading to my three year old kid and in turn, he loves flipping through the pages, looking at pictures and then narrating the stories as they have been told to him!

Discover India series by Sonia Mehta is a must read series that takes the readers on a memorable journey of India. Festivals of India is the upcoming instalment in this series that again has Mishki and Pushka all excited because Daadu Dolma is going to tell them about the various colour festivals of India.

Festivals of India book is full of colourful illustrations, pictures, fun facts, history and strategically placed games like sudoku, mazes, spot the difference etc. to engage and enlighten the readers in a fun way.

The festivals are arranged according to the time they are celebrated and simple language with lots of visual matter makes this book interesting not only to kids but also adults.

Even my three year old loved it. He is always eager for me to read it to him and then sits for long periods flipping pages to see the photos in this book.

Apart from my kid's obvious love for the book, I also learned so much about the festivals from this book. Njkinny recommends Discover India: Festivals of India by Sonia Mehta to everyone looking for an engaging, informative, interactive and beautifully presented book. Super shiny 5 stars to it from me and I look forward to reading more books from this series to my child.

A great gift for your kid this festive season, grab your copy and educate your children about India's culturally rich festivals and their history.

I received the book from the publishers, Puffin Books, and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased review.
