Book Review:
How a Star Falls by Amber Stokes is the first book by the author that I have read. The beautiful and mysterious cover and the intriguing title were the first things that attracted me towards this book and then the blurb sealed the deal for me.

Expecting a fantastical love story, How a Star Falls came as a complete surprise and nothing like my assumptions. The idea behind the story is great but the execution didn’t come up to the mark. Somehow I didn’t connect to the characters like I wished I would.

Parts of the story are great but when I compare the whole story, I wasn’t very mesmerized by it. The whole idea of a star falling just didn’t come out right when the protagonist applied it to herself and the coincidence of the usage of the same constellation and her excuse why she had been here when the hero found her didn’t look very believable. The roommate angle also felt incomplete.

The inspiration part about following your dreams raised my hopes that now there would be some solid moral here but that too was left halfway. The hero suddenly started following those same steps which he had rejected for so long when his family had told him. Overall, the story lacked a dept that I had hoped to find here and so, despite the author’s engaging writing and the beautiful descriptions of the night sky and places, the story fell short from becoming memorable to me.

All in all, How a Star Falls is a sweet, clean, light and a quick read romance that I finished reading very quickly. 3 out of 5 to it and recommended to romance lovers. Amber is talented and I would be checking out her other books in the future.

I received the book from the author and the publicists and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
