This Christmas themed book has a young girl, Bree wishing for a pet for Christmas. It is the sequel of “A Father For Christmas” but can still be read as a standalone. However, it is recommended that you read the first book too to better understand the characters.


Having read “A Father For Christmas” in which Bree wished for a father and proved a matchmaker for her mother, Kelly and Tyler, a former army man. Now Kelly and Tyler are together and Kelly is pregnant with her second child. Life is finally on track for her except that Tyler has been in Afghanistan working for a charity for war children and alone with a small daughter who constantly asks for her real father, in absence of Tyler. Kelly has her hands full. She just wants her loved ones to be home safe for Christmas. But the real test happens when Tyler is taken captive in Afghanistan by terrorists.
What will happen now?
Will Bree have a complete family with a father and mother in it?


I absolutely loved the first book and loved this one even better. The cover, blurb and title all are intriguing and instantly attract our attention.


The plot is fast paced with realistic settings and engaging writing. I could feel the dilemmas, fears and tension of the protagonists and rooted for a happy family for Bree who is confused and wants her father there with her just like her friends at school have!


The hostage scenes in Afghanistan had goosebumps erupting on my skin and are frighteningly real. They kept me glued to my seat, swiftly turning pages, all the while praying for Tyler’s safe return.


This book is all about the lesson of cherishing your loved ones and having faith in them. It teaches us to grab every moment with our loved ones and fight for love.


A heart wrenching, emotion rich and memorable story that left me feeling thankful for the love I have in my life, I absolutely loved reading A Pet For Christmas and think this is the best book by Rachelle that I have read till date. 4.5 out of 5 to it and recommended to all readers. So, go read this book and enjoy! 🙂
