Book Review:

Echo Lake by Carla Neggers is the fourth book in Swift River Valley series but the first that I have read and I enjoyed visiting Swift River Valley!

This is the story of Heather who has landed the job of renovating a 1912 country house and Brody who left Swift River Valley years ago but is back to help his friend, Vic who is also the owner of the country house.

Heather and Brody share a history and their is chemistry between them but Heather is wary of Brody’s interest in her. Meanwhile there is also a mystery running alongside this budding romance that had me intrigued and entertained throughout.

Carla’s writing style is vivid, expressive and fluid. She had me visualizing the snowy beauty of surroundings and I felt like I was actually there. The characters are interesting people with their own secrets, insecurities and story and I loved getting to know them. Heather and Brody are likable and I enjoyed following their romance.

The mystery is well developed but still I was able to crack it beforehand.

All in all, Echo Lake by Carla Neggers is a fun book that had me hooked and left me wanting to return to the beautiful Swift River Valley. 4 out of 5 to it and recommended to all romance and suspense lovers. I know I will be checking out the other books in this series soon and look forward to reading more from the author in the future.

I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in  no way influenced.
