My Review:

How far will you go to save your child?
Will you be willing to kill an innocent man?

Sheldon is a normal man with a wife and kid. Tommy, his son is the apple of his eye and one day when he goes missing from school, Sheldon’s happy life comes to a screeching halt. Unable to believe that his son has been kidnapped and with no reason apparent for anyone trying to do this, Sheldon and his wife are confused but then Sheldon starts receiving mysterious messages from an unknown man who tells him that if he wants his son back he will have to do whatever he tells him to do. Denying to do so would result in disastrous results for Tommy. Sheldon has no way out except agreeing to this man but the task he is supposed to do leaves Sheldon facing the most dangerous and life altering decision of his life.

Fatal Decision by John Greenwood is a touching and also thrilling tale of a father’s quest for his missing son and the hard choices he has to make to get his son safely back from an unknown kidnapper.

The cover of the book is ambiguous and at first glance gives the feel of a cozy romantic story rather than this intense kidnapping drama. Although I loved the house shown on the cover, I feel this story should have a more pronounced and fitting cover which gives the readers a feel of the story at just glancing at the cover.

The characters are expertly projected and the reader is able to connect and feel their emotions. I was touched by Sheldon and could empathize with him. He is desperate and ready to go to any lengths to get his son back. I was very impressed by Detective Stanton who is strong, brave, intuitive and as good as a cop can be.

The plot is beautifully conceived and expertly executed. It is intriguing and very engaging. I could not figure out the culprit till the very end. Although the plot line is very interesting and fresh, the author still needs the polish to get the reader engrossed in his story to the full extent.

The pace of the book is fast and events happen quickly after the initial slow start.

All in all, a fresh and intriguing story that you can enjoy on a holiday or when travelling, I give Fatal Decision a 4 out of 5 and recommend it all mystery, thriller and suspense lovers.

I received the book from the author courtesy Online Book Club and I am very thankful to him.
The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
