Title and Author: The Frog Prince by Jenni James

Genre: Teen & Young Adult, Fairy Tale Retelling, Fantasy

My Review:
A classic fairy tale retelling by Jenni James, The Frog Prince takes a different take on the widely popular and much loved children’s fairy tale, “The Princess and The Frog”. Prince Nolan is determined to know Princess Blythe. His betrothed, Princess Blythe seems like a spoiled, shallow and self absorbed princess to Prince Nolan which is just not acceptable to him. To check and make up his mind, Prince Nolan decides to disguise himself as a dirty, slimy frog and test the princess.

Will he be disappointed or will his preconceived notions about Princess Blythe prove to be wrong?

I had heard so much about Jenni James and her flair for retelling fairy tales her own way and so when I got my hands on her book, I just had to read it. The Frog Prince retells the old and one of my favorite fairy tales very beautifully. The story is very different from the original one and it was very enchanting and very satisfying to read the book.

The writing is simple and can be read by everyone easily without any fuss about difficult words. The plot is beautifully executed and the characters are adorable and very much like our childhood favorites.
I enjoyed reading the book and recommend it to teens and adults.

A 4 out of 5 to The Frog Prince and I look forward to reading more from Jenni in the future.
