Book Review:

I’ll Be There by Samantha Chase is the first book in this series that I have read and although the sixth in this series, it can be read as a standalone.

Initially it was the cover that attracted me towards this book and had me checking our the blurb which again is very interesting and sure to catch a reader’s attention.

The story is about Gabriella who is the assistant and caretaker of Zach Montgomery who is recuperating from an accident. Good at heart but disliked and ridiculed by her family as well as her boss, Gabriella’s life is not all flowers but still she perseveres and soon her boss comes to see her in a new light as he re-evaluates his feelings for her.

The plot is interesting and had me intrigued. I like headstrong, independent and determined heroines and Gabriella looked just the type but still at times I just felt like shaking her for her silent endurance to her family’s ridicule and her boss’ unworthy treatment of her. I mean why should she endure such injustice and not stand up for herself?

Zach also sounded like a wounded hero and I would have liked nothing better than to see him heal and be the ultimate hero I always like grumbling and brooding at first but still a good man at heart who changes to become the ultimate lover and caring man for the heroine but I was a bit let down here. Zach could have been so much better but he looked like a tantrum throwing child for the most part.

I cant fault Samantha’s writing which is engaging, expressive and very vivid but her characterization and development of the characters could have been better. Despite this, I enjoyed her writing and will be checking out her books in the future.

All in all,  I’ll Be There by Samantha Chase is an engaging book and it entertains but still had the potential to be so much more. 3.5 out of 5 to it and recommended to all romance lovers.

I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
