Book Review: Something Old, Something New ~ Seven bestselling authors, Seven second-chance Romances in One Anthology
Something Old, Something New contains seven romances by seven authors. I have read books by a majority of these authors before and love their stories. So, when I came to know about this anthology, I immediately got myself a copy.
All seven romances are based on the theme “second chance romance” where the protagonists get a second chance at love and what second chances they are! I swooned, laughed, and then cried happy tears while reading these stories.
There are Doctors taking a second chance at love, childhood sweethearts coming back together, exes working their way to love again amidst danger, multicultural protagonists traversing continents and years to come back to reclaim their love, rich girl and poor boy dynamics play havoc on a romance, and lastly, a paranormal take on beauty and the beast awaits a second chance at love.
Special mention to Blood Red Love by Neil D’Silva because this is the only dark, paranormal romance. I loved the story but the ending left me confused and if what I thought to be the twist is true then I was a little horrified at the prospect which is the true intent. So, it is great for horror lovers.
All other stories are a variety of contemporary romances and engagingly written.
Varied styles of writing and diverse characters come together in this anthology to give pure entertainment to the readers. 4.5 out of 5 stars to Something Old, Something New and Njkinny recommends this romance anthology to all romance lovers. I came to know about a few new authors like Andaleeb Wajid and Neil D’Silva through this anthology and loved their writing. I will be checking out more books by these authors in the future.
