Book Review:
When Secrets Strike by Marta Perry takes us back to the small town of Laurel Ridge with its close knit Amish community that we first met in Where Secrets Sleep. Most of the characters from the above book are back in this one too but still  When Secrets Strike is a standalone story.

In this book, someone is setting fire to places and the prime suspect is Aaron, a firefighter. Sarah runs a quilt shop within Blackburn House and has a past with Aaron. When circumstances force them together, Sarah will have to trust her instincts if she wants to protect Aaron whom she believes to be innocent. But in doing so, she will endanger both her heart and her life!

I enjoyed reading this book and loved revisiting Laurel Ridge and meeting some of the characters like Sarah from the previous book, Where Secrets Sleep. The plot is meticulously planned and executed and the author had me engrossed right till the end.

The story is fast paced and the writing simple and fluid. I could connect and empathize with both Sarah and Aaron and rooted for a happily-ever-after for them. The suspense to the identity of the arsonist and his motive in setting fires had me guessing till the very end and then left me surprised when the identity was disclosed.

The romance between Sarah and Aaron is heartfelt, clean, emotional and feels genuine. I enjoyed watching them give each other a second chance at happiness and love.

All in all, When Secrets Strike by Marta Perry is another stellar romantic suspense from the author that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. A story full of heartfelt emotions, clean romance and a good mystery, I give it 4.5 out of 5 and recommend it to all lovers of clean romantic suspense and look forward to reading more form the author in the future.

I received the book from the publishers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.
