The Billionaire Bachelor by Jessica Lemmon Book Review:

The Billionaire Bachelor by Jessica Lemmon appealed to me because of two reasons. First is the author whose writing I enjoy and second is the fact that the story promised an alpha Billionaire hero and a strong heroine. I love watching strong characters butt heads and then amidst all the friction find their happily-ever-after.

Things I Liked:

All my hopes and expectations from this book were met and then some! The plot looks predictable and can even be termed predictable but the expert execution made the story unique. I loved how Jessica developed her characters and the brought so many twists and turns to give the readers a story that will have them on the edge of their seats, breathlessly turning the pages to know what happens next!

Protagonists:

I didnt like Reese at first but then fell under his charm. He is a complex character with all the self-destroying assumptions that often plague men in books and in real life too. LOL

He thinks that falling in love is a weakness and not for him and does his best to resist his growing attraction towards his pretend wife, Merina. So, it was sometimes saddening and sometimes maddening to see him destroy his own happiness and make his life complicated. But despite all my frustrations towards him where I wanted to smack some sense in him, I was kept engrossed and rooting for a happy ending for Reese and Merina and some sense for Reese.

Merina is a strong heroine. She is witty, loyal, independent and a person I loved and admired. She had spunk and daring which had her accepting the indecent proposal of a marriage of convenience with Reese to save her family hotel. The chemistry between her and Reese is hot and the emotional play most realistic that often had my heart breaking and my eyes going misty with grief. I felt like everything was happening right in front of me and was real. I felt the anger and betrayal felt by Merina with her parents and all her emotions assaulted me like they were my own.

Supporting characters:

I enjoyed meeting the Crane family, am intrigued by them and eager to read their own stories in the future.

Fast paced and engaging throughout:

The story is fast paced and I finished it in one sitting because I just could not stop reading! The author’s writing style is fluid, crisp and she narrates her story showing all her writing prowess. I think this book is one of her best books that I have read till date.

Conclusion:

All in all, The Billionaire Bachelor by Jessica Lemmon is an entertaining and intense romance that I loved reading and strongly recommend to all adult lovers of billionaire romances with a strong heroine and an engaging story. 4.5 out of 5 stars to it from me and I look forward to reading the subsequent books in this series too.
