Blurb:

They called him the devil. And she is determined not to be the devil’s captive…

Aditi had her future planned. She would marry her sweet boyfriend, live a simple life, and slowly get over her painful past. If only she had known that her plans would be destroyed the moment she met the devil’s gaze.

Known as the devil because of his ruthlessness and brutality, Anirudh Shaurya is the heir to a powerful family who are well-feared and revered in the world of business, crime and politics.

Aditi is expected to accept her marriage, her so-called destiny, but she is determined not to give in.

She would fight the devil.

No matter how much he tries to bend her to his will,

or how dangerous and cold-hearted he is,

or how hard his kisses and passion make it for her.

But the only thing harder than fighting the devil… is to stop from falling in love with him… before betraying him.

The Devil’s Kiss is a standalone contemporary romance.

The Devil’s Kiss by MV Kasi Book Review

The Devil’s Kiss by MV Kasi is the latest romance from the author and it is a delicious treat! I have never enjoyed an anti-hero as much as I did in this one.

Anirudh Shaurya is feared and despite his God-like beauty, no one would ever confuse him of being anyone other than the ruthless mafia king that he is. Aditi has her life planned out. Work, love, marry and then settle down with a few kids. But her life upends for the worse when she is forced into marriage with Anirudh who hates her father and is marrying her to exact revenge on him.

Likeable Aspects of the Book:

A story with strong protagonists who engage in a battle of wills right from the start, I sat glued to my seat turning pages eagerly. A heroine who is loyal and willing to do just about anything for the people she loves, including getting married to a criminal. A hero who is everything dark, dangerous and ruthless, The Devil’s Kiss is full of angst, suspense, scorching romance and a multi-layered story that kept stumping me.

The twists and turns keep coming, and every time the reader will think he/she knows what’s going to happen, a new curveball will be thrown!

I never thought I would ever love an anti-hero but this impossibility was made possible by the powerful narration of the author who had me grudgingly fall in love with Anirudh. I swooned, fanned myself, shed tears and then laughed hysterically , so happy was I, when the end arrived.

Book Quote I liked:

He might be the Devil, but he was devilishly handsome. Her mind knew what he did and what he was capable of. But her body had a mind of its own when it came to him, and was fatally drawn to him…”

Things I liked:

It was through MV Kasi’s books that I first ventured into stories that had protagonists who exhibited grey-shades, were enemies and yet won the readers over. My first enemies-to-lovers stories were M.V. Kasi  books and I am so glad I started reading such stories through her books. Be it “The Singham Bloodlines” series or “The Revenge Games” series, I fell deeper and deeper in love with MV Kasi’s writing and wholeheartedly recommend her books to all romance readers above the age of eighteen.

This book is no exception and is yet another must-read romantic suspense that has all the feels with imperfect yet memorable characters and a story that entertains, keeps you guessing and then leaves the readers wanting more.

While there are too many mafia romances already written, The Devil’s Kiss by M.V. Kasi is refreshingly different and for me the highlight of the story was not only the suspense but the emotional feels I got while reading it.

The chemistry between Anirudh and Aditi is off-the-charts and definitely in the naughty category. But while the intimate scenes are graphic, they are beautifully complemented by emotional play that makes each kiss and each searing look so pure and heartfelt. What started as enmity is so expertly developed into a love that transcends time and rules.

I am a coward when it comes to you,” he said calmly.

“I might not take my own life. But I am not strong enough to live in a world knowing you aren’t there.”

Conclusion:

All in all, The Devil’s Kiss by MV Kasi is a book that is definitely one of the best reads of 2020 for me and a proud entry in “Njkinny Favourites” list. Well-crafted, professionally edited and with characters that provide not only entertainment but also the soulful satisfaction of being realistic, I give this book 5 out of 5 super shiny stars and Njkinny recommends this romance to all readers above the age of eighteen.

I am so eager to meet Anirudh and Aditi again, and hopeful of reading Shiv and Vijay’s, Anirush’s two best friends’, stories soon.
