Dear Ava by Ilsa Madden-Mills is the first book by this author that I have read, and I am beyond thrilled to have found her. I absolutely and irrevocably fell in love with everything in this book.
Ava has fought for everything in her life. She is dirt poor, has had no permanency in her life and through sheer determination made it to a prestigious school as a scholarship student. One would expect that with admission here her troubles would be over but this is not so. Then, one terrible incident leaves her battered, shattered and crushed.
An anonymous letter in her locker starts a story that broke my heart, shattered my soul and then beautifully stitched my hurt over the injustice of life in such a way that I felt energized, revitalized and proud to have met the protagonists of this book, especially Ava.

Undoubtedly one of the best books of 2020 that I have read so far and one of the very best I have read like ever, I feel at a loss of words to describe my feelings about this epic love story.
Ilsa Madden-Mills has won my heart over with her beautiful narration, her soulful and vivid development of characters and the emotional upheaval she takes the readers through in her story. A new addition to my list of “favourite authors”, kudos to her for taking a risk by bringing to fore a serious issue like bullying and handling it so delicately to give every Ava in the world hope and strength to never let anyone dim her sparkle.
When I adored Ava and was so impressed by her strength of character, I swooned over the hero. I will not disclose the name and ruin the suspense but OMG! I love you!
A man of every woman’s dreams, he had me fanning myself and had I not had my own swoony hero, I would have jumped in the book to grab him!
He said, “I’ve learned to be patient. Everything arrives when it’s supposed to.” and I was already crying so hard, I could not see through my tears but I still could not stop reading. This is that kind of book!
Love between the protagonists is so pure and blinding in its intensity that I felt seared by the rush of emotions I felt while I followed them to their happily-ever-after. A love that braves adversities and rises victorious and ever stronger from it, I am in awe of the beautiful execution of the emotions. The author shines and shows her writing prowess in this book. She had me sitting glued to my seat all through and then left me itching to re-live the experience of feeling the rush of first love again. I am like an addict craving my fix and I know I will be re-reading Dear Ava many, many times in the future.

Professionally edited, I found no errors, and I am glad because this helped my nerd brain to just stay focused on the story.
All in all, I loved and adored this heartfelt romance. I am still fangirling over this romance so hard that I have already heard all the songs from the playlist of the book multiple times. 5 out of 5 super shiny stars to Dear Ava and Njkinny highly recommends this one to all romance lovers over the age of eighteen.
