Haunted by Douglas Misquita Book Review:

Having read and absolutely loved Douglas Misquita’s action thriller, “Trigger Point“, I was excited to check out his debut book, Haunted. Do know you Douglas Misquita is India’s only Action Thriller writer? Yes, Douglas Misquita is India’s first author who writes only action thrillers!

So, if you have read his books, you know his books are extensively researched and excitingly thrilling!

The same goes for Haunted by Douglas Misquita. Here we meet a hardcore good cop, Kirk Ingram who is devoted to saving innocent lives from dangerous criminals. So, as a FBI Agent, he is well known for his success in putting terrorists behind bars and foiling many planned attacks. When one of the many enemies he has made during his career, kills his entire family before his eyes,  the grief, guilt and anger leaves Kirk a changed man. Tormented by nightmares, guilt, and heartbroken, he is now dogged in his determination to eradicate organised crime. But can this tortured hero save anyone?

Meanwhile a CIA operation to recover a dangerous nerve agent Citex from a secret Russian lab fails when someone else beats them to their game. Kirk Ingram is still recuperating from the attack that left him injured and his family killed. Haunted by nightmares and heartbroken, can this tortured hero race against time and catch the dangerous criminals planning a deadly attack? 

Will brave FBI Agent, Kirk Ingram be able to save anyone?

Things I Loved:

I absolutely sat engrossed throughout this book. The story is so exciting that I lost track of time as I read it!

With scenes that seem like watching a Hollywood action movie, I was totally bowled over and can easily imagine watching it on TV. Here the criminals are resourceful, the hero daring, and there is danger every where!

The story jumps continents, the emotional play is rich. So, I cried, hooted in joy and was sucked in the excitement. Innocent lives are at stake and only our hero can save them. 

The author brings to life the sacrifices Police officers make in the line of duty. They constantly put their own lives as well as the lives of their loved ones in danger when they go against criminals. Like Kirk who lost his family as retaliation for doing his job.

The plot is expertly planned and executed. Hence, it is extensively researched so that nothing seems unreal. If I didn’t know before hand, I could never guess that this is the debut book of the author because the writing is like that of a seasoned writer. And so fluid that every thing played like a technicolour movie in my mind.

Things that could be better:

While I enjoyed reading this book, the long list of characters that keep getting introduced all through the story had me losing track of their names. So, I often had to go back and read a part to remember a character.

Conclusion:

All in all, Haunted by Douglas Misquita is intense, adventurous, action packed thriller that takes the readers on an exhilarating roller coaster ride in the world of crime and the brave people who fight against it!

So, it is a book I can easily see adapted as a movie or a TV series. This story will excite and interest all action thriller fans. If you love books by Dan Brown, James Patterson, and Michael Connelly, then Njkinny recommends this book and all books by Douglas Misquita to you!
