I loved Gwen in “A Governess Should Never… Deny a Duke“, and had been so eager to read her own story. So when I heard about this new book, I jumped to read it. And I am so glad that I did. This book is such a heartwarming read perfect for the Christmas season.
Things I liked:
A quick and engrossing read, this book held me captive right from the start. And then left me smiling wide, feeling so happily satisfied!
Both Gwen and Tristan’s characters are so endearing, and had me totally rooting for their happy ending. I adored their heartfelt feelings for each other, and cried over their hardships and struggles. They have both faced so much, and then found happiness for a short time only to lose it again. So, my hopelessly romantic heart had me glued to the pages, fervently praying that they find their way back to each other for ever!

A Gentleman Will Never…Forget a Lady by Emily Windsor Book Quote
Then it felt like reuniting with friends when characters from the previous book made an appearance again in this one. It felt so good to see them happy together.
I also learned so much about the Welsh way of celebrating Christmas. Emily’s fluid and engaging narration made me feel part of the story. And I absolutely adored each second spent staying at the Welsh manor, and celebrating Christmas their style.
Another highlight of this book is the sensitive and relatable way in which the author shows the impact a tragedy has on a family. Tristan’s supposed death and then his reappearance affected each and every member of the family like his brother, daughter. I had already cried buckets of tears for Tristan’s twin, Rhys, and Tristan’s daughter, Mari in the previous book, “A Governess Should Never… Deny a Duke“. And in this book, I laughed, cried, and felt relief alongside them feeling as if a member of my own family had returned home safe and sound!
Conclusion:
All in all, this book is like a warm hug, and a dose of happiness that restores our faith in true love. An enjoyable read, Njkinny recommends this loveable regency romance to all romance lovers.
