I read and absolutely adored Lynn Painter’s romance “Better Than the Movies“. So, when I came across this book I jumped to read it immediately. And I am so glad I did. This book is a cute, breezy romance that is a perfect mood lifter.

Things I liked:

Captivating Book Cover, intriguing Book Title, and engaging blurb:

I confess the gorgeous book cover is what at first made me stop to check this book out. Then the intriguing title and the author’s name sealed the deal for me. “Accidentally Amy” title coupled with the interesting blurb, the author, and the eye-catching cover are sure to attract readers towards this book.

Plot and narration:

The plot is fairly straight forward and even predictable but narration and execution is what makes it extraordinary. Lynn’s writing style is engaging, fluid, and held me captive throughout.

Told in third person with both the protagonists’ perspectives, we get splendid insights into their characters.

Iz is weird, eccentric and adorable in her weirdness. Her sunshine personality beautifully complemented Blake’s more serious persona.

Blake is a cutie and hallmark style hero who had me sighing and swooning with his protectiveness, his cat love, and his endearing inner clash between what his heart desired and what his mind pushed him to do.

So, both the protagonists are fun, loveable, and relatable. Their struggles both on the professional and personal front is understandable. Then I was thoroughly entertained by their texts to each other, and fun banter.

Also the spice is pretty tame so it can be read by readers sixteen years and above.

Things that could be better:

While I enjoyed this easygoing and fun romance, I still felt that everything moved too quickly. Later I came to know that this story was served as a serial for the newsletter subscribers and so I understand the relatively concise yet adorably entertaining scenes. But still I would love to see more descriptive scenes, more page space given to the development of the romance and the later conflict.

However, despite this pointer, this book is a perfect one-sitting read which provides laughs, swoons, and tears.

Blake had my heart with this quote.
