Blurb:

A scandal-averse Maharaja.
A free-spirited actress.
What do you get when throw them together and add a fake engagement to the mix?
Depending on whom you ask, you either get a match made-in-heaven or a royal disaster.

Nivy Sharma knows exactly what she needs – the freedom to be herself and follow her passion. Guess what she doesn’t need? A tailor-made husband.

When her meddlesome mother tries to throw her into the arms of a mom-approved suitor, Nivy runs the other way.

Right into the arms of the man who shattered her heart.

His Highness Veerendra Singh can recognise a pain-in-the-ass when he sees it. Especially when it falls into his arms.

Even if said pain-in-the-ass has legs that go on forever and lush lips that just beg to be kissed, Veer vows to run the other way. As he did once before…

But, when the marriage-minded princess of Tejpur sets her sights on him, Veer runs back into Nivy’s arms to propose a fake engagement.

When ‘fake’ starts to feel very real, Nivy and Veer have to decide what is important… long-held prejudices or the chance for a life with the only person they’ve ever loved.

Will this be their second chance at love or will their broken past ruin their hope for a shared future?

The Maharaja’s Fake Fiancee by Alisha Kay Review:

A real life Maharaja, a sassy actress, a fake engagement, matchmaking moms, lots of drama, red hot chemistry, troublemaker siblings and a malicious ex still determined to become the next Maharani, what can go wrong?

I just finished The Maharaja’s Fake Fiancee by Alisha Kay, her debut romance and had I not known this beforehand, I would never have guessed that this is her first book!

Things I Liked:

I absolutely adored Alisha’s vivid, witty and fluid narration. She had me laughing out loud one moment and then smoothly shifting to an emotional state with tears in my eyes the next. The ease with which she shifted my mood from light fun banter to red hot lust to feeling indignant on behalf of the protagonists is worthy of applause, and a shining positive of this book.

Nivy and Veer won my heart right from the start. They traded barbs and bantered like kids and provided many moments of comic relief throughout the book. Their sizzling chemistry will have you fanning yourself because it will have you feeling hot and definitely naughty! Without seeming crass, the author has beautifully brought to life sex scenes that are elegant and soulful.

I also loved Rani Ma and Jessie. Throughout the book there are hints of another delicious romance brewing in the background and I am so eager to get to that. I will not share my guesses on who this mysterious love struck couple is. Read the book and take your own guess. DM me after and we can trade guesses then!

Conclusion:

Sweet, light, engaging and complete with a happily-ever-after we all crave for, this Indian royal romance will have you swooning, laughing, sighing and thoroughly entertained throughout. It has everything you love in a romance and then some. Njkinny recommends this lovely and fun second chance love story to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen. 5 out of 5 super shiny stars to this fun Desi romance.

I wanted to throw laser out of my eyes at Nivy’s mom but my dear Veer put her in place and I swooned! He is my new book bf and everything dreamy. The ending had me rejoicing. This book teaches us to never let true love slip through our fingers because true love is what is important. Okay, stop reading this review now. I promise I am done and go grab this book!
